About Lillian

Lillian Porter Attinasi holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. She also studied art at Teacher’s College-Columbia University, Purdue-Hammond and IU-Northwest. She taught in the Gary schools at all levels, including the original Emerson Visual & Performing Arts magnet in midtown, now closed. She also taught at IUN, the IAC Summer Arts Program and was a founding member of the Miller Art Project and other arts organizations.
As an artist, Lillian worked for several years in Gary, New York City and Mexico. For the past 25 years she has created art in Southern California, and briefly in Paris, China and Italy. Lillian has worked in several media: oil painting, ink drawing, silkscreen, woodblock, and photo-collage.
Lillian has exhibited in New York, Chicago, Long Beach, South Bend and Lake Street Gallery. A retrospective of more than 50 years of artwork in all media and new work using repurposed materials will be exhibited at the Gardner Center in 2021.
